Thought that may cheer you up my musician friend! The way I look at it and Im no expert is that as internet and mobile phone connection speeds get faster people will become more accustomed to buying songs.
These songs will soon be much cheaper to buy and will come with video/extra features that kids can download to their phones in microseconds.
Currently Itunes charge 79p per track and I know if I were a kid I would think well I may as well download for free somewhere
But as soon as we are talking 5p per song plus the video and extras the culture will change. Add to that millions and millions more people coming online over the next few years and we may be back to a time were music makes even more money than in the beetles heyday may be 5p per track but billions of 5ps add up to well nuff money!
It took 36 years for the Internet to get its first billion users The second billion will probably be added by 2015;
Damn so we need to think positive about record sales there will be a shift from shall I just download for free .. to I cant be bothered to download for free as much easier to just pay 5p and I get all these extras
Some recording studios are looking ahead and thinking about the clients career as a whole instead of just looking at the recording process.

Musicians and artists dont choose to be in the music industry they have to something inside makes them its good to know that its a great industry to be in!
